International philanthropy efforts

Collaborating with the International Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus Council (IPOSC), efforts are directed towards enhancing eye care for children in sub-Saharan Africa, where a deficit in specialized pediatric eye care professionals is evident. Their endeavor includes launching the Stop Infant Blindness in Africa (SIBA) project, aimed at tackling retinopathy of prematurity in premature infants.

International Pediatric Eyecare Training (IPET)

Good-Lite and IPOSC have partnered with the International Orthoptic Association (IOA) to create the International Pediatric Eyecare Training (IPET) committee. IPET is launching an orthoptic training program at the Sheikh Zayed Eye Center in Banjul, The Gambia, with the goal of training ophthalmic personnel and nurses to provide essential eye care for children in underserved regions.
